As several other posters said, I saw the title of the post and was anxious to see pictures of a "half lost via zoom groom cat," imagining a photo of a BIG long-haired moggie sporting a combination of a horrified/mortified expression along with a hacked coat looking as though a chainsaw went through it.

Thanks for the chuckle!

I just got one of these and it does work great. I think the fur sticks to the rubber and anything loose just gets pulled out. I have a short haired cat that this has worked wonders on. I use quick, short strokes to loosen the fur in small areas then long strokes to get it all wrapped up in the teeth of the zoom groom. I've done it for 4 days straight and I still get a good amount of hair and she like it alot. My other cats, the ones with longer fur, are still a struggle since they don't like to sit still.

Mine is due to be ZGed. I haven't done it since last week. I started an exercise program, and it's been keeping me busy. So I'll probably do it tonight.

I bought one of these yesterday. I don't get it. Maybe I'm not using it correctly, but when I brush my dog I can fill up brush after brush after brush with fur. The zoom groom only picks up a few little things here and there?

not sure what the problem is alix..... it works wonders on my bailey.... her undercoat and her outercoat..... i had used a curry comb on her before and thought that did a great job.... but this thing really gets it all.... and quickly....

I just bought my zg this weekend. Got a good deal on it too...$9.99 with 75% off I want to thank the people on here. I love that thing and so do all 4 cats. Alix...are you using a circular motion with the zg? The first time I tried I thought there is no way this thing will work...but it does It gets the fur off the furniture too. If it hadn't worked on the cats but worked on the furniture I would have kept it any way!
