You can read the full story here - https://www.city-data.com/forum/cats/...ue-kitten.html - but to summarize, I just rescued a kitten who was living outside the library I manage. She is a very sweet and VERY petite tuxedo cat, and I need a good name for her! I'd love one with meaning, maybe related to her being rescued from the library, and how it was fate that she arrived there... or perhaps something related to her markings. Here's what I've come up with so far:
Kismet
Simone aka Mona - after my mom's cat who died this year
Roxy
Cocoa - since her fur is really more dark brown than black
Destiny
Karma
Valentina - her birthday is probably around Valentine's day
Tikvah - means "hope" in Hebrew
Chloe
Lily
Potter - as in Harry Potter, for the blaze marking on her forehead
All of the names you mentioned are nice. I agree with your previous post that Kismet, when shortened to Kizzie, is pretty similar to Gizmo. I'm partial to Roxie - since this little one has a lot of moxie, she is a survivor! Simone (Mona) is also very cute and certainly a tribute to your mom's previous cat. Now Tikvah - love it! Conjures up memories of my BBG days as we had a B'Nai Brith Chapter named Tikvah.
Funny, I thought Bella would be perfect too... but my roommate's dog is named Arabella aka Bella, so that could get confusing. Thanks for the opinions so far, and it looks like Simone and Roxie are in the lead. Tikvah is a great name too, and I would probably call her Tiki. Argh, I hate picking pet names!

LOL. I wasn't in BBG, but lots of my friends were... and we had a Sunday School classmate named Tikvah, because her Uncle was missing in action (in Vietnam) when she was born. They had hope he would return, hence the name, but unfortunately he never did. It's a beautiful name, though!
Ms. Reader, Lady BookSmart, Ms. Knowitall, Ms. Prudish. Just think she needs something that fits along the lines of a librarian.
Hey, watch what you're saying about librarians... I'm not a prude, LOL. I agree, though, it would be cool to give her a library name! The library cat from the book I mentioned earlier was named Dewey, for the Dewey Decimal system - but that doesn't really work for a little girl.
