I go into some detail regarding the cats' apparent benign relationship with the local wildlife in post #4.

Not sure the little yappers would go in there, especially if there's a cat flap they're not familiar with, and they haven't gotten this far south yet AFAIK, but they would be seriously outmatched by any of the cats should they corner one of them.

The cats pretty much ignore the wildlife, but big killer dogs cannot be ignored and this is the best compromise we've come up with, considering all factors.
