I've never used them for prescriptions, but my cats have been getting a couple dental treats every night. I doubt that they have any dental benefit, but they have become a favorite part of the nightly ritual. It will hard to explain this one to the cats.

I always view the closing of fairly recent (in this case, just a few years) acquisitions with suspicion.

They're not closing - just announcing that they are part of the Petco family.

Parent company Petco announced Wednesday that it will permanently close all operations in Rhinelander, except for its 'Live Aquaria' business. Drs. Foster and Smith is America's largest catalog and online seller of pet supplies.
Petco cited a need to streamline its operation and better focus on its core business and customer.
Drs. Foster and Smith will close on Feb. 12. The last days of employment for the 289 employees will vary over the next 60 to 120 days.

With good reason. You have to believe in fairy tales if you don't think that was Petco's plan when they bought that operation. What other reason would they have for acquiring them? It's called buying out the competition, and increasing your market share.

Yep, happens all the time, and more and more. In pet food, pet supplies and pet supply stores. There is no one to trust any more, with our pets' safety. I won't be having any more, when the current ones are gone. I don't care to continue to make bloated companies fatter at the expense of the welfare of animals.

F&S was based in Wisconsin and that office is closing. My guess is they are moving operations to Petco's corporate headquarters instead. It's still sad because that part of the state has few job opportunities. :-(
