My mother put her cat, Emma, down today. She was a cat who lived quietly - 10 years old. Born feral. 8 years indoors.
Emma didn't demand anything except to be on my parent's bed. She liked to be right in the middle and was fisty at times. It wasn't until my mom took her a young male cat that Emma began to fade. It was like Emma felt her time was completed and really went down rather quickly. My parents are older now and Emma nestled perfectly in their lives.
I will miss seeing Emma on the arm chair next to my mom or in bed quietly sleeping. She never asked for anything - I hope you see Jack in Rainbow Bridge, Emma. I hope you find a bed to lay quietly in tonight. I hope you are eating a big bowl of food as you couldn't eat the last week of your life and are able to run free now.

RIP Emma - You lived a hard life for two years and comfortably the last eight. Never asked for anything much in life, I hope you get the world now.

I'm so sorry. Emma was one lucky cat to leave the mean streets and get to live in your a house with your mom, you and whoever else. I know she appreciates it.

What a beautiful OP about Emma. She sounds like such a wonderful kitty. So glad she and your parents found each other so she could have many good years with them, but it is so, so hard when we lose them.

RIP, sweet Emma.

Emma is home now. Thank you for caring and loving her so much for her relatively short earthly life. RIP, Emma.

Just want to add this brings tears and a feeling of utter sadness to my heart. I know how much folks here care for their pets and times like these devastate even the strongest of folks. Wow, it makes me take a deep breath and wonder what it is all about sometimes.

Lovely ode....they are so innocent, loving, and make us so happy.

Sorry for your parents and for you...remember the good times with Emma.
