Not necessarily...there are tons of cancer causing materials that can get into food at any time, genetic predispositions, and environmental factors. Veggies may have all sorts of chemicals on them, from pesticides to contaminates, so I don't think just more of them is the only answer. Too easy of one for such a complex system.

I'd put stock in the types of cancer are different, such as more fiber less colon cancer.

The article covered everything I was going to say. Its not the meat itself causing the cancer. It is how the animal food source was raised and how the food is cooked. Frying/grilling meat especially is bad.

I also think one of the reasons vegetarians may get less cancer is because they are eating enough vegetables whereas "meat eaters" often don't like or slack on vegetables.

I think these studies are seriously flawed because they don't take into account genetics, types of veggies/meats eaten... where they live, other enviornmental factors etc... (remember vegetables/beans are heavy with pesticides/fertilizers even if you wash them.)

However I would say there are health benefits and drawbacks to a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle that would highly benefit a lot of people based on genetic/health factors.

not discounting the fact - just that it looks like a flawed study in that other variables aren't taken into account. I personally would say - it makes no differene but it is dictated by our genetics.

They did the same thing for baked goods a few years ago, it was huge news. The browning on baked goods supposedly was linked to huge amounts to carcinogens because of a certain chemical that was made, when fed to rats there was a high correlation to cancer. When people dug into the study it was found they fed huge amounts to the animals, the increase percentage was included in total cancers (including non digestive), and the percentage was deceptive (.25% to .5% is a 100% increase, but not a huge increase in numbers).

Same thing with vegetarians, often they are much more knowledgeable about what they put inside of them, exercise more, go to doctors more (and catch things early) then people who might be classed as traditional diets or meat eaters (very broad category). There is very little to isolate anything but meat or no meat in the stats that can have a huge effect on causation, they said they didn't even extract the known effects of Teflon from the model, and they didn't even provide the accuracy of the fit to the model (big R^2 means eating veggies has more of an effect, lower less).

Default Do Vegetarians get fewer cancers?

Not one single person in this world has a clean blood stream. Like thee one person said on this post, there are all sorts of contaminants in plastics that food is packaged it, if you are not drinking pure drinking water, your body is saturated with fluoride a known carcinogenic. The system we live in has all types to toxins in it. And thatnk you US GLOBAL ELITES for chemtrailing us to deach spraying the earth all over the world with TOXIC CHEMICALS. We are all subjects of theirs. ************************************************** * If you are a vegetarian and if you eat ORGANIC you are less likely to come down with those cancers. Plus not all vegetarians eat more 80% raw and 20% cooked, so if the ratio is not like so, they are more prone to make their bodies more acidic, the more acidic your body becomes, the more likely different diseases will come upon you. The body has to be more alkaline to up hold it's health. ************************************************** * Now say you are a Vegetarian and you opt t take those WORTHLESS DEADLY FLU SHOTS... they now have made them 12 times stronger, so you could come down with any type of cancers. Because of the toxic chemicals in the flu shots, will destroy every organ in your body. Toxic chemicals are CANCER CAUSING. The more FLU SHOTS that a Vegetarians gets, the more that Vegetarian is subjecting himself/herself to cancers and neurological diseases. ************************************************** *And lots of Vegetarians are eating TOXIC POISONOUR SOY PRODUCTS... that will damage them and kill later, takes time for that POISON TO BUILD up in the system and their blood is polluted. They AIN'T health no matter what they say.
