i think what it mainly comes down to is that not as many people regularly post questions about the central valley (this includes the whole central valley ~ sacramento and san joaquin valley).

every time i visit the ca forum, most questions are about other places...

with that said, i think it would be great to have a central valley subforum.

Many of us in the Ventura County, Santa Barbara County area would also love a sub-forum. At the same time I am not sure we could support it at this time. Not the amount of questions needed to keep the sub-forum active. If you look at states like Iowa though, they are hardly active at all and they have a forum all to themselves. I bet the Ventura county and Santa Barbara county area produce more topics than the state of Iowa, and we still have no sub-forum. But then where would you rather live? on the coast in California or the plains of Iowa? Who know what happens at the admin level within CDF. I love it either way, but see your point about having a place to call home within the forum world.

Would it be/is it possible to have a 'TEMP' sub-forum for a period of time to determine if there is ample numbers to support it permanently?

While it wasn't set up as temporary, for a time Connecticut was divided into separate subforums, and was then recombined when too many people objected. That turned out to be a temporary subforum, so the idea is not without precedent.

from time to time CDF does start sub forums to see how they will go and grow. In Arizona the Prescott Sub Forum started late last year I think and is doing well. In the beginning it was seemed to set up for a trial run. It does happen, just takes time. Maybe someday the most populace state will have the most forums.
