I was watching Mythbusters last night (Episode #103) and they were testing a myth about driving angry and its effect on fuel efficiency. Kari, Tory, and Grant were at an abandoned neighborhood out in the desert. I thought I remember them saying it was old military housing. I don't know if they mentioned where this was or not, but I didn't catch it if they did. Does anyone know? There was at least an entire subdivision with a playground. Thanks for any help!

fort ord is the name of the military base it is part of and the area was reordinanced into Marina California near Santa Cruz. Cypress Hill is what the neighborhood was called back then, and there are some plans to fix it back up into commercial property

Way late reply, but from the driving blind episode, here's the entrance they use to get into the Cypress Hills abandoned neighborhood (which looks the same as a driving efficiency episode location): [url=http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=cypress+knoll s+marina,+ca&sll=38.494567,-76.585512&sspn=0.041381,0.053816&g=cypress+knolls& ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Cypress+Knolls,+Marina,+Monterey ,+California+93933&ll=36.670997,-121.800994&spn=0.000628,0.002216&z=19&layer=c&cbll =36.670997,-121.800994&panoid=AZO_z9elJ_ixyvGodB0teQ&cbp=11,91 .63,,0,10.23]cypress knolls marina, ca - Google Maps[/url]
