Btw what is Newsoms big plan for California? He won’t even give a state of the state address like he’s supposed to.

LOL, just imagine 40 million people riding horses to work everyday! Just think of all the billions the DMV won't be able to shake out of people....

Knowing Newsom, he'd create an "Equine Registration Department" that's just as efficient as our prestigious DMV....

Whoops, I hope I didn't give him an idea.

He's going to have us living in caves like the Taliban, before he's done.

No clean water.

No electricity

No gas

No gasoline

No food.

Yup, a real panacea....

California in a jam after borrowing billions to pay unemployment benefits

“So there’s a structural deficit that underlies this crisis moment with this huge debt to the federal government.”

Data also show that jobless workers in California stay on unemployment significantly longer than the national average, which adds to the total payout amount. And California workers claim unemployment benefits in disproportionately high numbers.

The state accounts for about 20% of the nation’s jobless claims, far in excess of its 11% share of the labor force population. That partly reflects the state’s higher unemployment and accompanying increases in layoffs and jobless claims in the tech industry and other sectors, but also its comparatively easier eligibility rules and low re-employment rate.

Analysts said California could have used some of the $43.5 billion the state received from the American Rescue Plan Act to pay down the debt. Instead, state officials spent the relief money for other purposes, including additional stimulus checks to residents.

Maybe we wouldn't be in a jam if America didn't give billions to the Ukraine. As they always say, "Help your own out (first)".

And maybe if we didn't help Ukraine we would be helping Sweden, Germany or Poland next year...

The appliance bans have been struck down by courts and have thankfully been all but abandoned. Many cultures rely on gas heat to cook their traditional foods, and the health risk of gas stoves isn't big enough to override that. Restaurants also need gas to cook high volume. And the government can't force every homeowner into five figure retrofits...

At least Newsom regularly vetoes spending bills and has been slashing the budget. He's one of the few Dems who stands up to the radical wing of the party

Ha! Only because he has aspirations of being president and it's an election year. He is normally every bit as radical as the radical wing of the party. But hey, I'll take it. At least it's something.
