Thanks for this. It sure shows the "down trodden" areas, like Saint Louis really aren't....

In fact, they're cleaning up...according to this report, anyway.

They have large corporate HQ that brings up the averages. St Louis has 8 or 9 F500 HQ's. Look at San Diego vs. Philadelphia or Research Triangle... also both pharma/biotech job centers... holy moly!

Curious how these differ from the mean wage?

One thing that immediately stands out for California is the affordability of Kern County (Bakersfield). Weekly wages only $43 less than San Luis Obispo county while the average price of a home in Kern County is probably nearly half of that of SLO county.

Wealthy retirees and college students probably skew the data.
