About every 6 weeks, I make a trip to the redwood coast, and the last couple of visits made for some enjoyable photos. Eureka, Crescent City and redwood parks like Jedediah Smith, Prairie Creek. Think I'm going to sqeeze-in a December drive too.

Got more to share later.

The air was still in Eureka, and water like glass that day.

Also got some water reflection up at the Smith River through Jedediah Smith redwoods for an inverted Stout Grove ..

Excellent photos as always mdvaden. Are you shooting professionally? I noticed one looked like a wedding shoot.

I've been practicing portraiture in spare time since Nov. 2011 with a goal of pro photography portraits. As an add-on niche, since my main work is tree care. Also got a few print sales, like a recent $175 for a 20" x 30" print. My plan was to dodge weddings altogether. But in September, I encountered a redwood wedding at Stout Grove, which led to seeing some their work, and a some other photographer's wedding photos in forest settings. I felt that I could match quality in that outdoor niche, and decided to go for it. But I didn't have any weddings under my belt, so I did a test-shoot with a model and wedding dress in Jedediah Smith, plus a park up here, for a portfolio sample of what's available. Otherwise, practice TFP (trade) samples is the lion's share of what's been on hand to share. The wedding dress photo in Jedediah Smith redwoods was one of the first sets with my newly acquired Canon 85mm 1.2 lens.

The whole portraiture thing stems from one photo I took of someone on a rock at the Smith River in Jedediah Smith redwoods. It had their reflection in the water, and it triggered my interest for both urban and forest portraits.

Yes, its looks like you have a real eye for it. The combo of portraiture in nature, especially the NorCal woods, is quite a unique and interesting artistic combo.

To add to this, here are a few pics I've taken around the area over the past month or so, except I'm using my phone's camera and not a fancy one.
