Hi, myself and my boyfriend are thinking of moving to either Santa Cruz or LA from Toronto. I'm in PR and he's in an industrial designer. We also have a business that we are planning on operating out there as well. Can anyone guide us in the right direction about what we would need as far as obtaining VISA's or special business licences? We're planning on taking a trip this winter to California to check out what would be best, but in the meantime, if anyone has any advice that would be great. Thanks for your help!

L.A. is Toronto south, only moreso. Santa Cruz is Vancouver divided by 20. No comparison. Go to the library and research and re-research. Check with immigration re the visa and permits. Read forums on the internet about Calif. It's like a country within a country, the 5th largest economy in the WORLD. Good luck.
