It's fairly plain as a pig in a poke that Ruth knew of what she spoke.

I just wonder why you are for playin no-see-um, and not asking for specificity when you can discern she is onto the truth?

It would have been the neighborly thing to do.

Though I see you are plainly named, so let's get this Rodeo underway.

Rodeo

Howdy, partner
Time to rustle
You insulted Ruthy
with your hustle
I see right through you
you should be knowin
across your various names
you are composing
so don't be complainin
when you earn your brandin
and a hog-tiein
in less than 20 seconds flat
Cause we suffer no rodeo clowns
In this here Outback
Now Joaquin Murrietta
He done lost his head
When he rode against the best
And I have a posse
'tis true
Offend them and we will marshall after you.

I ran the quotes here as, Ruth, you are apparently saying, that there is a redwood grove north of Tahoe between Tahoe and Lassen around Placer County, which is not correct. I advise a map. The Placer Grove is on the same latitude as Tahoma, which puts the grove west of the mid portion of the lake.

Using your criteria I could say that Northstar Ski Area is west of lake Tahoe around Placer County, but, I would be wrong.

May I suggest "Forest Trees of the Pacific Slope" by Sudworth.

Still the definitive tome on the subject. He also locates species quite specifically.

I still have my copy that was the textbook for dendrology in college.

Wiki and other sources say the Pacer Grove is NW of Lake Tahoe.

Jesus Christ Ruth, look on a map.
The latitude of the Grove is 39. 8.182999610900879 North
The latitude of the northern most tip of Lake Tahoe, is 39.14.91600036621094

If one is going to claim some knowledge of Geography, it is helpful to have some.

Visited this park for the first time last October and was very impressed. Due to trip and time constraints only had time to see the more settled North Grove, but next time will absolutely plan to hike the much larger, more remote South Grove.

Then it's wiki's mistake, not mine. I was talking about the Placer Grove.

Dude! What kind of bogus contest are you running, lol! As if anybody couldn't (and most likely did) look up the answer on the internet. And now you're hassling someone because an internet source was a few degrees off, seriously, you're hassling someone over degrees lat and longitude?

Man, just when you think you've seen everything on these forums....

I've only been to Humboldt SP and Richardson Grove, Avenue of the Giants up in Northern Redwoods, Mariposa and Tuloumne Groves/Yosemite, Calaveras Big Trees and Big Basin (well and Henry Cowell, Butano and other South Bay parks)...I have to say each park is unique and hard to tell which is favorite... each has unique stuff, like a nice campsites, a swim hole, animals or a nice trail... Redwood parks tend to be more crowded... I prefer non-redwood parks in the mountains... but I guess if one goes far enough, way up to Crescent City, redwood parks get less crowded with tourists? I'm yet to camp there. I like owl sounds at night in Calaveras. The downside it gets cold there earlier.... I tent camped in redwood parks in South Bay in winter, it was pure hell, you never get to dry or warm up in the deep shade...
