PlayHaven is in San Francisco, and SendGrid is in Boulder, CO, neither are in Silicon Valley, unless you meant Silicon Valley as a term for the entire tech industry, your comment is not quite apt. Companies have to worry about how their employees public behavior affects other employees unfortunately, in the first case they could have easily gotten sued for sexual harassment for creating a hostile work environment.

I understand the risk of a sexual harassment lawsuit, but let's be honest, a few off-key nerd jokes, and this woman thinks she's crusading for woman's rights?

Not only that, she was caught on twitter making "dick" jokes nonchalantly with her twitter work account like 3-4 days ago.

Did they make you watch the sexual harassment videos for education purposes?

Yeah, sounds like she's definitely got ''issues''. And you're right, any kinda sexual harassment stuff really freaks out the bureaucrats!

It's true that no one has a ''right'' not to be offended, though too bad we disagree on the rest. Racial, gay, sexist ''jokes'' or not, it still don't matter. If someone doesn't have the commonsense to know when they're being rude, even after they're specifically told they're being disrespectful and offensive... then IMHO they pretty much deserve whatever ''education'' they receive. No different than some moran deliberately insulting your wife or girlfriend in a bar... he takes his chances (and BTW, I hear Fontana gals can be a tough bunch)!

He wouldn't stand a chance . Might post a pic of the aftermath, though.

Sometimes you just have to let things go.

I was driving down Broadway in Oakland. Some guy in his Cutlass Supreme cuts me off, and I give him the thumbs up for his good deed (no not the middle finger, an actual thumbs up!).

I change lanes and we end up at a stop light next to each other and he gestures me to roll down the window. He's a large african male with a beanie. He says to me, "You trying to be funny old man?"

I'm not sure how to respond, so I say, "Yeah?"

He starts laughing and calls me crazy before spitting out his window and driving off.

Wow, breaking news!! You can be fired for making inappropriate comments?? Really?

Say it ain't so! Tell that to Jimmy Snyder and Juan Williams!

Oh, and someone might want to look up the difference between nerds and geeks.

It was the Santa Clara Convention Center, not some hyper-PC workplace environment. Sniffy-teats needs to tone down her umbrage. It's a cruel world out there.

Totally different, as different as different can get, especially seeing as how she was telling dick jokes earlier.
