Fresno is garbage. Just stating the truth.

Default Fresno!

This is just cracking me up....reading about Fresno (although I skipped over the people splitting hairs.) I lived there for too many years (about 13 altogether, at different ages) and agree with every bad thing said about it!

Unfortunately, we still have family there and must trek to visit them occasionally. Everytime we visit...it is still the same hellhole it was when we left (OK, they've built Riverpark and all that, whoo hoo.) The ONLY good memories I have of Fresno are my trips FROM IT to Yosemite for camping, hiking, river rafting, etc.

And now they have high home prices to boot! It's one thing to pay a lot of money to live in a beautiful place....but to live in FRESNO?!

I have been involved with/lived there/have to visit since 1971. Each time we visit my impression is the same:

It's as disgusting as the day I first set foot in it.

Default whaaat???

Fresno's metro is essentially the whole San Joaquin Valley though not statistically. And could you please explain to me what other city besides Merced that is closer to Yosemite's border than FRESNO.

There is a difference between being "close to" and being "nestled against."

Looks like Modesto's about the same distance away.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Fresno's proximity to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks! Kings Canyon is a great place, and you don't have the huge crowds there as you do at Yosemite.
