I currently live in Medford, Oregon in the Rogue Valley (120 miles from Crescent City). I love it here, It's just too damn hot in the summer. I have visited Crescent City and absolutely love it. (Save from its tsunami susceptability) it seems like a great place to live. Is this a good idea? Feedback please.

Have you checked out other places along the coast in NorCal, such as Eureka or Arcata?

If you like Crescent City, I don't see why you shouldn't relocate (assuming money isn't an issue).

why not check out the coastal areas in oregon? the california sticker shock isn't pretty. the taxes are WAY higher, the car registration prices alone will give you a cardiac. i just spent a few weeks at my grandparents place in wilderville this summer - that summer heat isn't fun. there's always cave junction? or that spot over by the ocean in oregon that's known as the "banana belt"?

Crescent City is a hellhole compared to Medford. Go live there for a couple of weeks, then decide. There is a lot of in on this forum on Crescent City/Del Norte. Use the "search Forum" feature. Good luck.

Bandon, Gold Beach, and Brookings are better options, in my opinion. Arcata and Eureka, if you like it crunchy. Arcata has got the university vibe as well.

I've been going there for 13 years. Sweetie works at Pelican Bay Prison. Took me time to get adjusted to the place but I really like it.

Yup - stay north of the state line if you can.
