I created a account just to ask this question and don't know any of the rules of this forum or if i'm posting this in the correct spot, sorry if i am.

Anyways, me and my father are looking to move into a place before schools starts ( Aug 20th i believe ) and he has given me the choice to pick where we live. This is possible because he's a independent salesman and can do his work from wherever he wants. Price isn't a huge issue, were looking to rent until he's ready to buy a property. So the main focus is on where's going to be the best place for me as a freshman in high school.

So does anybody have an idea of an area that would be cool for a high school student to live? A place that has tons of things to do for HS students, malls, parks, movies and so on. A city that has a lot of young people out and about doing things, not too much crime. Im also white but i really like diversity, so i really don't want to live in whitey-vill. I'd like a place where's theres a mix of rich and poor, and close to a even mix of all races that get along. Would hate to be in a place where races are divided due to racism in the city.

I like to be active, so a place that has wether decent enough to where i can be outside working out and playing sports. A place with clean air i'd guess i'd say? Not too much pollution, a place where i could breathe well ( have had breathing issues ).

So from all that, the places i think i might be interested in is SF in the city and la jolla near SD. I know those are very different places but they seem to have what i'm looking for, but again i don't know too much. I would be very appreciative if someone could help me out, tell me places they know that would fit me, and or your opinions of the 2 places i just named for me. Thanks a lot for reading.

first, let me ask you.. have you been anywhere in california? la jolla is very nice. very affluent. i don't think you'll find poor people there though. san diego has some great towns with lots of younger people. pacific beach is nice (right next to la jolla) with a lot of young college kids. the bay area has a lot of nice towns that fit what you want. below SF on the peninsula and above SF in marin county. SF might be a little more crime than you're looking for and the weather is generally better just outside of SF.

Actually i have, just this summer. Saw SF thought it was beautiful, didn't get to see la jolla but did visit san marcos and downtown SD. Im actually from the inner city of Houston so i can handle my self enough when it comes to crime, i don't think SF will be to rough for me. The bad parts of oakland will probably be where i'll draw the line though lol and thanks thanks for the reply i'll look into Pacific B and marin county.

it sounds like you have a good idea of what you want. not too many poor people in marin county either. i think the only drawback with san diego is being so close to the border. my sister had a house in pacific beach so i visited there a lot. it was a cute little town with lots to do. but if you like SF, i'd say go for it!

My son graduated from Woodside High School near Redwood City. I thought there was a great mix of races and income levels from the uber rich in Woodside and the barrio of Redwood City at his graduation ceremony.

San Bernadino, Stockton come to mind. Additionally, there will be many more cities and towns soon to come. Rock bottom prices on everything including the city governments!

And I implore the people of California to do everything possible to keep your "citizens". You deserve all the help you can get!

The twenty best places in the USA are to live in California from which fifteen are in the San Francisco Bay area and five are in the Los Angeles area. By county, four of the best places to live in California are located in Santa Clara County, four in San Mateo County and three in Marin County. So California has a better place.
