I've been monitoring the "intentional community" movement for a few years. It seems to be picking up steam. And California - in keeping with its eclectic and pioneering reputation - seems to be leading the way.

Here's a list of California's intentional communities. Not sure how current it is. But one thing is evident: California has it all. From vegan to anarchist, Franciscan to fundamentalist, there's an intentional community for whatever suits your fancy in California.

Is there an intentional community near you?

Do you have a different link? My computer doesn't like yours, says it's unsecure.

Halcyon has been going strong for 99 years. If you get to Halcyon be sure and visit the store, very cool.

I recently attended a memorial service there, in a eucalptyus grove, it was different and moving.
