I am in college at UNC. I want to move to social, and be a bum and learn to surf, maybe just work as a cashier at a tshirt store.

If i make it through school with a Bachelors degree, how would i do this? How do I look for jobs in Cali while studying in NC?

Geez, if you want to be a bum, learn to surf and work as a cashier, why bother with a degree?
Just take all that money that you're wasting on institutionalized education and c'mon out! and find your way.

why not?
a surfer-"bum"- cashier is no threat to you.
i'd encourage anyone who is so inclined to throw off the shackles of the dominant culture and be themselves.

I get the bum part, and the cashier part, but where the heck is "Social"??? I say ... study harder - it may come in handy some day.

Your plan will not work here, it is too expensive here. Your plan is a typical SE US plan. Stay put.

Being a cashier here won't even put enough food on the table at minimum wage rates. Try maybe 2 to 3 cashier jobs, which will maybe, give you enough to share a room with someone on the coast, pay for gas, and eat. But that begs the question, will there be enough time to surf? Than again, if you can perfect living out of your car like my brother in law does, than you just might succeed in being a bum

LOL.
This mentality cracks me up, because in a lot of ways, I think this thinking is common among people who wanna move to so cal.... to live the "surfer lifestyle" and not have any worries except what are the waves gonna be like. . .

I say do it..
Maybe find a job waiting tables or work at a local surf shop and see if u can rent out someon'e couch on their living room for a hundred bucks a month...

more power to ya dude.
