Define "way up". How exactly would allowing children of illegal immigrants "to apply for aid from private gifts or endowments" would send taxes way up?

Also, according to the article, we're talking about 5,000 university students across the entire state. If we wanted to, it would cost us somewhere around 0.1% of the state budget to pay for their entire tuition.

The children are illegal too

Once the law is in place the state can start funding with tax dollars, no vote required. This is the intent.

As noted in the arrticle; who is going to hire an illegal immigrant after they graduate? There may be true immigration reform someday but until then, this "investment" doesn't appear to pay off.

Default California Dream Act Clears Assembly

Of course it does. Gotta keep California's state pets happy and money(?), since when did the Legislature ever care about costs no matter what the funding streams, or "official" ones?

I still maintain that if one legal California citizen is denied entrance or a seat in a class due to lack of space and there's one illegal taking up space, the entire system has failed the people. But then again, the Legislature wouldn't care about that either as long as they could keep La Raza happy.

I guess La Americana doesn't matter in Kaleefornia. Celebrating it's diversity reigns supreme.

Sick bastards!

Just another example of the mental disorder that is liberalism.

Free education money for the children of illegal alien criminals. Oh yeah that's one way to balance the state budget.

Great. Let's just add more incentive for people to come here illegally. California likes to pretend they're powerless to stop illegal immigration, saying its the Federal government's job, yet they're quick to roll out the red carpet for them.

Educated people get better paying jobs and pay more taxes.
Uneducated people making less money use more social services.
Sounds like a good long-term investment to me.
