Anyone grow up or live in Manhattan Beach? I know it is great, but what is it like to raise a family there? I have a 4 yr. old and 2 yr. old and is it safe? Are there young kids? I notices a lot of nannies with the kids, so are there other stay at home moms?

Very safe. More family-oriented than Hermosa Beach. Lots of kids. Yes, there are SAHMs. MB is very upscale - kind of the Beverly Hills of the South Bay. Many Los Angeles refugees - folks who started families and didn't want their kids going to L.A. Unified schools. MB is the first upscale town to the south - closest to the entertainment industry and westside corporations. So commutes aren't bad.

Nice place to raise kids. I prefer South Redondo for this purpose as the zero lot line Mc Mansion plague has swept through MB already (sadly) and the former is more asthetically pleasing. Besides that, it's a lovely spot. Great schools, great beach, great weather and it's closer to L.A./Hollywood/LAX than the rest of the South Bay.
