Since when did the cops start going to peoples house to arrest them for a failure to appear ?

Code enforcement is wayy to strict in diamond bar like they are here. My 90 Tbird has been sitting in my drivway for 1 yr & i have only driven it once. The tags are expired & battery is dead. My cousin got written up by code enforcement for having 3 cars on his property with expired tags & one car had 2 flats. He took the city of yucaipa to court & won.

Some day someone is going to go postal on govt employees.

A judge will issue a bench warrant on a failure to appear. Once the warrant is issued the fuzz can haul you in. Looks like this guy had a warrant out on him ...

"He surrendered at the sheriff's substation in Walnut after deputies told his wife they had a warrant for him."

Do you live in bizarro world? How about since forever since when?
Back in 1995, I was cuffed and hauled to OC Jail at around 8 on a Sunday morning because of a warrant for an FTA on a... wait for it... dog license ticket.

12 hours later I was let out.

I have never had a FTA. The last ticket i got was 8/09 & i paid it cause i know the judge does issue a warant for a fta & the ticket increases greatly. Generally if code enfocement writes you up for a code violation & you dont comply then they fine you & if you dont pay the fine the city puts a lien on your home. That will most likely be happening to me next yr. The city cant squeeze blood out of a turnup but i know they sure will try.

I just feel govts (city, county, state & fed) are getting way out of control & something needs to be done about it but we all know that wont happen.

What I find ridiculous is a $30,000 bond for an FTA on a flat tire on his own property.

If it was me I'd appear in court and claim the car was an art expression!

Yep...i was surprised about the high bond as well. If the guy paid 10% of that hes out 3k dollars. The car is a classic 79 mercedez & worth around 25k. Why this guy left the car outside ill never understand. All he had to do was fix the flat & he had enough time to do it. Code enforcement is a must in alot of situations but give the guy a break. Its the scum politicians who pen the laws. http://www.ci.diamond-bar.ca.us/

I have no sympathy for anybody who fails to appear in court on their appointed date. If you don't want to get arrested either don't do the crime, don't forget to appear, or have a pretty damned good excuse (and arrange another court date).

Hey Steel, I got your "rep point" and while I agree it is kinda sh*tty that the car is in his own driveway, the fact of the matter is HE HAD A WARRANT OUT FOR HIS ARREST. It is completely lawful for the cops to execute on the warrant at this guy's home. As for the high bond, there were avenues he could have taken to rescind the bond HAD HE SHOWN UP FOR COURT. So, in that regard, I have no sympathy for the guy. He had many options, yet he chose not to exercise ANY of them.
