This summer is very unusual and the weather people are reporting record cool temps, especially near the coastline. Living inland a little ways, it has been the mildest summer I can ever recall [not having to use air conditioning is a major plus]. Lots of morning clouds even into the valleys is weird for this time of the year.

Good point about the clouds... Summer has been a little late this year, maybe by late august we'll get something.

Its been genuinely cold here , which is quite uncharacteristic for this time of year. I have a gut feeling it may extend into autumn

Even though it's not as hot this year as in years past here in the Coachella Valley it is still HOT here! In July we had our usual, characteristic 117 and 118 degree days.

How about the WORST summer ever weatherwise for those along the coast?!? July was the worst summer weather I've ever seen here. It's finally sunny here along the coast but still way below normal and the water hasn't even cracked 70 yet. There was no summer this year along the coast, it's pretty much been the same temperature since March.

I absolutely LOVE this weather.

I went home over the weekend(it was a muggy, humid mess) but I had to return to California on wednesday and as soon as I got here I was in heaven weatherwise.

So incredibly comfortable just how I like it.

Gawd, if NY had the Bay Area's weather, Id be in heaven.

Anyway, the grass is greener on the other side, until you realize its hella hot over there.

Agreed. Unless you're a big fan of marine layer, wind, and cold. Then it is the best summer ever.

Its hot inland. The coast sounds nice. I remember one july day many yrs back when i went to santa monica for the day. It was 95 here & 60 their. I had to put on a sweatshirt. The coast is where its at but too expensive for me. Some people are just fortunate to live along the coast or not too far inland.

Here in the central CA, we've had cooler days, and chilly nights! This NEVER happens, and I've lived here all my life! Yeah, its been a cool summer, but I'm enjoying it. Must be getting old We went swimming today, but not because it was hot... it was actually a bit breezy, and I'm wondering what to expect next.
