An unemployed chef in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, bought into a dream she has had since she was seven years old. And it cost just $100.
Nell Benton purchased The National cafe, an upscale coffee shop featuring organic coffee and local food, after the owner put it up for sale for $100, hoping to attract just the right buyer.
Sounds like a good opportunity for her. The restrictions are not that bad, the menus part gives her time to get to know her customer, and experiment with other things they may like added to the choices. The staff helps with customer transition to the new owner, as well.
The hardest part will be getting the previous owner to step back enough for it to be recognized as her business, by the customers.
