This music video was posted back in the day on here by another poster when it dropped. No Griselda(from Buffalo, for those that don’t know), but solid for what it is.
That website in the segment can be suspect, as it left out or leaves out cities with much higher crime rates.
With this said, within the city, DeVeaux, much of La Salle and around Hyde Park Avenue and some pockets around Pine are solid to very nice(particularly DeVeaux, near Lewiston). To be honest, there is land that could be developed in the city, but I also wonder if there is an impact by chemical companies/industry in the city besides the known Love Canal situation.
Given there were many chemical plants and the Love Canal and other aftermaths I think people tend to avoid NF. A quick search on the web finds dozens of articles about pollution in NF. There is also that massive landfill that looks like a mountain. I lived in WNY for 65 years and I can count on one hand the times I went to other parts of that weren't near the Falls or the Outlet Mall.

Within the past several years (and on multiple occasions), 'radioactive slag' has been discovered in Niagara Falls State Park. Though I'm pretty close to my environmental engineer-first cousin, I couldn't tell you exactly what that is. Doesn't sound too great though--warning bells tend to go off for me anytime I hear or see the word 'radioactive'
Ok…I’m trying to understand how the Cayuga Island article has an impact on not going there.
Hyde Park Boulevard is a long street and Hooker was located in the portion to the south away from the residential neighborhood in the street view. Same with La Salle, as Occidental is located on the far western portion of the neighborhood and the work actually being done in the Love Canal containment area east of the neighborhood.
As mentioned, people know about the sites in the city that have been environmental issues, but there are also parts of the city that are solid to very nice in terms of neighborhoods.

How does anyone know if a yet undiscovered environmental issue will pop up in their neighborhood? There are plenty of really nice areas in WNY, why go to NF unless you are there to see the Falls? We went to the Outlet Mall a few times and the smell from the landfill can be overpowering.
