Hi, we are from New Mexico and are looking to move north. My husband builds homes and after looking at and visiting the Bozeman and Livingston area found that building is at an all time high in the area. The Bozeman ads offer great carpenter jobs with benefits and great pay. Wanted to know if anyone can give us some first hand info about building in the area and the carpenter pay rate. Thanks for any input

The only thing that I can tell you is that the cost of living is pretty high there. Although the pay should be good, you'll be spending more elsewhere.

Default Thinking of Moving from North Carolina

I'm thinking of moving to the Polson area. I'm a plumbing contractor in North Carolina and am getting real tired of triple digit temps with high humidity. I love the seasons and wonder what the comments on the Polson area would be? Thanks

We just moved to Polson a week ago! We love it. We spent five months in Spokane, Washington and hated it. So back to MT we went. It's a beautiful valley. I am amazed daily at the mountain and lake views. The swimming is great in the lake on a hot day. It's a nice small town with a friendly character. With your profession I am guessing you might end up traveling for work, but am not sure. It gets darn hot here but not humid. Forest fires happen every year. This past week it has been SO smoky. We have 90,000 acres burning not too far from here. And that is just one fire. We had some wind blow in and get rid of the smoke but I am assured it will be back. Great place to live. Just hard to make a living.
