According to an article, Bozeman rabbi opens state's first kosher certification agency, on Saturday, December 25, in the Missoulian, "An orthodox rabbi from Bozeman has opened Montana's first kosher certification agency as part of his drive to bolster Judaism in the Big Sky State, where fewer Jews live than almost anywhere else in the country."

Note: Pasta Montana and Montana Coca-Cola are certified O-U kosher by a Denver-based rabbi.

That's the only bad thing about religion... everyone tries to pick up areas that are not as "competitive" when it comes to religion. The thought being "we need more people that think like us in that place."

People need to remember that Chaim is fairly young and idealistic himself, and I'm not sure it's responsible for him to be considered "teacher" just yet... That said I've met him and found him rather pleasant, but also young and idealistic as I've stated..

I'd like to see more Kosher food available simply because it's a good standard of quality, and as a rule is tastier eatin' (once I had kosher hotdogs, I couldn't go back to the other ones!) Seems to me if there were more certified producers, the prices would be more competitive with 'regular' food. (Whatever it's called, I forget.)

Excluding meat and seafood, I'd guess that more than 85% of the items in any supermarket are certified kosher.

Almost all GV, Walmart's in-house brand, products are certified kosher.

According to JewishMontana.com, the Albertson's at 200 South 23rd Avenue in Bozeman now has kosher chicken and meat.

Reziac, you may be conflating Ashkenazi (Eastern European Jewry) ethnic food with kosher food.

While most Jewish ethnic food is kosher, there are places that serve Jewish ethnic food that is not kosher and there are places that serve other than Jewish ethnic food that is kosher (there are several kosher Chinese and kosher Italian, as well as, at least, one kosher French, restaurants in the NYC area).

That could be. I suspect to a lot of us, certain types of unfamiliar ethnic food all gets lumped together.
