Hello,

I would like to get advice on apartments in Jamaica Plain. I would like to be able to park my car near by. Is there T-line station in JP? If so, I would like to be within walking distance. Also pretty reasonable and not to loud. I would appreciate any advice.
Thank you so much.

Jamaica Plain?

Here's some advice. Carry a 9mm at all times!

Have you considered another part of Boston?

ignore this extreme response.

JP is an up-and-coming neighborhood that is heavily gentrified and safe in many areas. it's been brought up several times here, so it would be wise to do a forum search for "JP" and "Jamaica Plain". it's serviced by:

-the Orange line (Stony Brook and Green T stop. the Jackson Sq. and Forest Hills T stops are near the edges of JP)

-the "E" green line trolley (but only starting at Heath St.)

-the #39 bus (a route that runs alongside the "E" line and services the sections of JP the "E" doesn't)

I don't drive, so can't give much advice about parking (may be able to get off street parking, but I believe there's easy on street parking on the side streets).

Just be sure you find a better part of JP, because JP can get pretty hood.

Thank you very much! What part of Center Street is interesting? It looks like a long street? I found apartment on Atwood Square ( Off South Street, near Harvest Coop)
Any thoughts?

Centre Street has a lot to offer, basically between where Day St turns into Centre all the way to the Forest Hills T stop, with a few blocks here and there closer to Forest Hills with not much going on. I recommend checking it out using Google Street View. Near the co-op is great though, you will be able to walk to all the good restaurants near the JP Monument (Vee Vee, Wonder Spice, Bukhara, etc) and to others farther south like James' Gate and Dogwood.

Centre Street runs Roxbury, j.P. etc. down by the monument area b4 Roslindale is great for the t.
travel a wee bit, Roslindale into West Roxbury. There is great mbta there. There also are many old
churches, and you are near the city.
