What a shame! Right across from the tourist swan boats in the Public Garden next to the Four Seasons hotel.

The Burberry Store now closed on Newbury St. had one or two incidents a couple years ago, when at least one of them had a car plowed into the storefront at 4 am to steal.

Let's just have all nice places shutter in downtown Boston and just be left with banks and nail salons.

With so many people online shopping and store owners paying high rents for stores I could see this happening.

Don't forget pet stores and chain coffee shops.

I can't say I see many pet stores these days ....?

Chain coffee shops are not going away. Just like bars and places where you get alcohol are not going away. Many people need both to function it seems.

Maybe not in the suburbs but there are quite a few pet oriented stores in Boston. Chain coffee stores may not be going away but seeing them replace independent coffee shops is not a positive development.

There was a really nice dog/pet store in Chatham that closed not long ago. Loved it. Haven't found anything quite like it since but I also haven't really been looking. I'm all set with going to Boyleston st for dog stuff

I'm sure chewy has more but it was more about the ambiance and the people working there for me. Store was in a big old house right on main st in Chatham.
