This is Your Brain on Birth Control validates what generations of women have suspected since the introduction of the pill—birth control is doing a whole lot more in our bodies than simply preventing pregnancy. In this brilliant and witty exploration of what we know (and don’t know) about birth control, Dr Sarah Hill has provided sound evidence that is eye-opening, riveting, and a must read for all women and the people who care about them.

My favorite book is Command and Control by Eric Schlosser.
This book really captured the feeling of what it was like to be in Strategic Air Command. I’m a retired USAF veteran with decades of service.
But not only that, its kind of like 4 books in one:
1) Detailed story telling of the Damascus Incident
2) Detailed story telling on how they made the nuclear weapons that were dropped on Japan
3) Detailed story telling of the Cold War and our fight against the Soviets.
4) Detailed story telling on all of the nuclear mishaps throughout the years.
I just finished up reading the Hollywood Godfather, the life of Gianni Russo. I still don't understand why people read Fiction as Truth is stranger than Fiction, and no fiction write could come up with a character and life like this guy.
He had polio and spent 5 years at Bellevue Hospital in NYC recovering from Polio. At 10 years old he moved away from his family and started out selling pens on the streets of NY and then accidentally fell in with the Mob.
He came close to death a number of times and lived on.
I just finished reading Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz by Darwin Porter.
Desi was a piece of work, a heavy drinking alcoholic and as promiscuous as any man you'll ever read about. j Not to say, Lucille was an angel, as she could be promiscuous as well.
I love reading these books with all the roadblocks, detours they both took to finally achieve fame and wealth.
That Hollywood Godfather sounds like a nice palate cleanser so to speak. I will see if it's available and reserve it
thanks for mentioning it. ( Lucu and Desi sounds good too).
wow just checked and it's available (kindle) with a wait list so added my name.
