boise is still better than most have had many friends move only to return but its the first time I have ever considered the possibility of leaving and not returning someday. Bend and medford are nice cities-most people I know seem to leave for oregon.

If you're considering Montana as some have suggested then be prepared for these lovely September mornings in the state's largest city, Billings! We're only 600 ft higher in elevation than Boise.

And it still kept coming down for hours after that was taken. Took til noon to finally climb above 32 degrees. 5" to 12" and possibly sub freezing highs forecast for next week

Not so much anymore!
I’ve heard many people say this about their various hometowns all across America, with all due respect. It’s not Boise that’s changed as much as the times have. Plus nostalgia.

I’m still a year to 1.5 years before making my move to the Boise area. I do not particularly care for suburbia. I’m searching for elbow room. 1.5-5+ acres of land. I want to build a 60x90 building with living quarters on one end (approximately 1000-1500 square ft living) It’s only me so no wife/kids etc. I know Boise is booming right now. Prices of property are quite a bit more than I expected. I hope I can find what I’m searching for when the time comes. I’d LIKE to be within 30-45 minutes of the airport but if I have to go farther to get the elbow room I will. I’m currently in Vegas.

Thank you for the information. I saw some very appealing corner property in Melba as I was scrolling through a real estate app. Although Melba seems very small. Do they even have a grocery store there? I don’t like city living but I don’t want to drive 30 minutes each way for groceries either. I know there is always trade offs for everything. I have plenty of time to snoop around. Another thing I hate is HOA’s.
