anytime one mentions "gangs" it appears as stereotyping but brings to light the type of people who may be creating what crime there is. (politically incorrect, but that is censorship to force people to think as "others" would have them, opposition to "their" views is not acceptable to them, until you convert to their way of thinking).
I moved out of Calif. for much the same reason, types of people flooding into the state with to many joining gangs and thriving on violence, disrespecting people and the laws while using them both to their own advantage. Protesting against our Country while choosing to remain in our Country to take advantage of what they can get at the welfare troughS). Their leadership (?) types even encourage them, believing they have rights with no obligations or responsibilities - everyone else "owes" them.
Having been born & raised in central Calif., it wasn't easy leaving, but the wrong "types" are crowding out the good guys and thus you'll have the same thing happening in certain areas of Idaho as it grows...but on a smaller scale. It is unfortunate. But as long as to many prefer to pretend it doesn't exist, or isn't real, or won't address it with maximum enforcements, it will grow on that goody goody feeling of socalled "tolerance" for anything....more tolerance for victim rights, then the rights of the innocent.
Having said that, Boise metro area is a good place to live with lots of Opportunities - classified as #3 for career, business, jobs...for those who want to work.
