Does Bannock Steel Co. still exist? (Boise, Pocatello: live in, area, company)

Ok, first off I do not live in the area nor have I ever been to Idaho. I collect various things, both for my personal collection as well as to resell as a hobby on the side. I recently obtained a folder full of various photographs of the Bannock Steel Co. which I believe was (is?) based in Boise, Idaho. When I get things like this I like to learn as much as I can about it, to learn the backstory, and sometimes even try to contact some of those from the past to at least share the images with them. A time or two I have found various letters written years ago and returned them to the family.

Anyway, can you tell me anything about Bannock Steel Co.? Is it a company from the past or does it still exist? Anything else? Thanks!

Never heard of it. The Bannock part makes me wonder if it has some connection to Bannock County, which is in southeast Idaho (Pocatello area). There are some posters from that area so maybe one of them knows something.

Thanks for the reply! It looks like they had two factories - one in Pocatello as you suspected, and then one they acquired in Boise.
