Are there any surgical centers in Boise that operate independently of the hospitals? We are moving out to Boise in the beginning of April. DH was hoping to do a travel nursing job there but it fizzled out and we are now seeing what OR options there. Of course there is St. Luke's and St. Alphonsus, but we are trying to see if there are surgical centers too. All the stuff I'm finding online makes it seem like everyone does their surgeries in the hospitals.

Lately there's been a lot of consolidation with the hospitals buying up physician practices. I can think of one surgical center that used to be independent, but now has a St. Lukes sign on it. I don't know about any others.

You might look at Idaho Urological Institute. I'm not sure if they are affiliated with any particular hospital. Idaho Urologic Institute, PA

I asked a friend who is a OR surgical tech. She said that as far as for-profit surgical centers, there is
the Treasure Valley Hospital on Emerald and an orthopedic surg center on River street. She also said that job opportunities are tight for OR nurses right now because St. Luke's has recently laid some people off. Not sure about why that is, but perhaps that will be helpful info.

The Ortho surg center on River street IS the one I was talking about. they are now part of St Lukes. It occurred to me later that I should have said that.
