My daughter would be zoned for Carver.
No way, no how should you allow your daughter to go there. I don't know exactly what keeps you from living outside the Bham city limits, but if you have no alternative but Carver, then rent the cheapest possible apartment you can find in a city with a good school system, get the power connected up, even buy really cheap garage sale furniture and pretend you live there.

I am aware that Carver is not an option. I think I will try Arlington before renting an apartment. Arlington is expensive but it appears to offer very personalized attention to each student. (There are less than 30 kids in entire school.) I will just have to make money appear. Hopefully next semester I will not have to pay anything for school.
Thanks for the warning.

I agree. The Carver school plant itself is wonderful. Unfortunately, flashy architecture doesn't translate into as quality educational experience.
