It's a longs ways off, but should I expect an "obstructive" amount of snow at the end of May? I don't mind a little here or there, but if the whole thing is going to be snowed over then I'll just shoot for Independence Day or Labor Day weekend.

Thanks.

Considering Mt. Bachelor stays open until Memorial Day weekend, I'd say you will most likely be trudging through several feet of snow at that point. Most trails don't clear of snow around here until July. I'd suggest holding off on that loop until later in the summer or fall.

On a typical year that area is covered in snow well into July.

I wouldn't bank on that. Still plenty of snow at the higher elevations.

Does anyone think the 3 sisters loop will be crowded Labor Day weekend?

Couple recent reports on the local hiker forum, with people tagging the summit, say it was "busy" even starting hiking before dawn on a weekday.
I am guessing its going to be crazy busy on that holiday weekend.
Little patches of snow around, but did not appear to be any on the trails, which will encourage even more crowds.

Crazy, it wasn't too too bad on July 4th weekend. I just did a part of it to summit the Middle Sister. Could you provide a link to the local hiker forum?

It's relative. It'll be crowded to a Bendite over Labour Day and to anyone who hiked the area 4 years ago and, likewise, 10 years ago, but if you didn't think that area was very crowded over 4th of July it'll only have a bit more impact come labour day.

I did a backpacking trip 3 years ago over Labour Day weekend in the Three Sisters wilderness and thought it'd be MUCH more crowded than it was, but my perspective was coming from North East crowds. We're all conditioned differently.

Let us know what you think when you return, I'd be interested knowing you're visiting from Portland and originally from back east.

I am not sure if its ok to post links in here, but here is the thread describing the "crowds".

And yes, that forum tends to have a low threshold for what they call "crowds".
