We are a mid-40's couple with no children, that moved to EBR last August and would like to find out what other couples do on the weekends. We are in an apt. until the end of the year so we don't have the normal DIY-type projects to do around the house. We like to go to restaurants and occasionally to the Hollywood Casino. I would like to find couples who play cards on Saturday nights and/or have crawfish boils that I keep hearing so much about or something along those lines. We like different types of music...oldies, 70's, 80's, some current hip hop, country, etc., and like pool and darts. I am currently a FT student studying to become a licensed massage therapist and my other half works for the state.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Welcome to Baton Rouge! There are many things to do here, it is just knowing how and where to find things to do. If you are church going people,, church is a great way to connect with others that have similar interests. There are comedy clubs here, plays at the Manship Theatre, Little Theatre, Swine Palace and others. if you like festivals, there is the Earth Day festival this Sunday downtown and that is always a lot of fun. There is also the "225" Magazine filled with things to do and places to go, iyou can find that magazine at restaurants and stores.. Also, on Friday the Advocate newspaper has a Fun section that is filled with lots to do. As far as playing cards etc, you may have to get to know your neighbors or meet friends at work for that. There is also Perkins Rowe which has a number of shops and a few restaurants and a movie theatre. it is nice just to walk around there on a weekend night and listen to muic or have a dinner out side on the patio. We enjoy BR it has so much to offer! LSU walks are fun as well and there is always something going on down at the university as well....

There's the Bayou Country Super Fest at the end of May.

I sure hope the construction on Nicholson is finished by then. If not, that will be a traffic disaster.

The event is LSU Day and it is going to be so much fun! There is a website, LSUDay.com I think. That has all the information about what is going on. it seems very well organized and I am looking forward to going! To the OP, you will always find stuff to do here, it is almost "too much"! I love it though! There are also some upcoming plays at the Manship Theatre.
