Is Samuel Dalembert taking Dallas to a championship? Calderon?
Not sure what the difference is. Either way you still get the same results, no championships.
Of course Dalembert isn't, but Howard would make it easy. An Ellis-Dirk-Howard lineup is nice. too bad. Mavs will just remain a 6th/7th seed at best for the rest of Firms career.

How do you know that? How many people thought the Mavs would win the 'ship back in 2011. All it takes is a hot streak and good chemistry. Well of course talent also.
There is a HUGE difference. Deron and Howard are max players....
But either way, according to what is being said here, you aren't winning a championship. Trust me as a Wizards fan, being cheap and not winning, isn't all that great. I don't disagree with the assessment of Howard or Williams, but I just don't see why anyone would be excited with the moves that Dallas have made. If anything it's just patch work. You will not go anywhere with a volume shooter like Monta Ellis. They aren't really building a good team, they are just picking up scraps and being mediocre.
The Mavericks have historically been the 3rd best team in the state. They should be used to it by now to be honest.
It almost seems miraculous; the current all-time head to head record, Mavs vs Rockets, is tied 84-84. This includes regular season and playoff matchups.
That is what's so great about sports, one can easily go back in the record books to present accurate information.
And, honestly, the Rockets have pretty much fallen off a cliff since 2000 as compared to the Mavs and Spurs.
Forget Dwight Howard, Dalembert does the same things Howard and Chandler do on the defensive end. I like the combination of Dirk and Ellis, they've developed some chemistry. I'm pleasantly surprised, but the addition of Deron Williams would have out the Mavs over the top and I think D Will probably feels he made the wrong decision.

You mean the guy that has never made an NBA defensive team is as good as the guys that have been on tons of them and won defensive player of the year awards?
Why not claim Dalembert can replace Dirk's scoring while you are at it?
