Anyone can give more information on this new development? It seems they want to do it similar to Maple Lawn in Fulton. I was considering buying a house there but I know Middle River is not very nice.... but it is conveniently located 6 minutes from I-95, 8 minutes from Mall at White Marsh.
Do you think it will improve in value? Because I am not from the area, I am a little confused....
I heard Harris Teeter will be there but not sure if I can confirm that.
I know this phase will (1000 acre mixed use community) will contain 1900 residential units, 3 class A commercial office buildings supporting 300,000 square feet of space, 400,000 square feet of single-story office space, 116,000 square feet of retail amenites and a 120 room Spring Hill Suites by Marriott.
Any opinion will be very much appreciated. Thank you!!

Prior to 12 years ago, the area was a massive wildlife preserve. Shortly after MD 43 was completed in 2006, light industrial parks sprung up, followed by housing (approx. 5-10 years). The housing developments are way too new to develop any negative issues aside from needing a car to go to another "nearby" neighborhood, or buy anything. You might want to hang out nearby during an evening; MD 43 is a major travel route that includes big rigs delivering goods to and from the nearby businesses, and going to and from I-95. There's also a state-run airport (Martin) just south of the area. It isn't BWI where flights arrive and depart every few minutes, but if you don't like any helicopter, prop engines or small jet traffic overflying your house (I believe the Maryland State Police and the Baltimore City Police park their helicopter fleets there), you'll want to avoid living there.

Sure. Allow me to add a few more characteristics, per my brother who works in the area: the housing was built within the last two to three years, and the Blue Angels practice maneuvers over the area (greater Baltimore Metro) when the group is performing at a local expo.

Bumping this thread. OP, did you end up moving there? We are thinking about single family homes there but are they crazy for wanting $500k-850k in Middle River?? (For a home that is NOT on the water) For that kind of money you could buy a nice home in a better school zone, less crime, etc. I am intrigued by the live, work play concept and like the idea of having a clubhouse and pool included, maintenance free lawn, etc. However, the projected 1000 homes being built all sharing a large pool seem like too many people. I am not even sure the prices of the townhomes there are worth it as the median house in Middle River is around $200k. The townhomes are priced at over $300k. Does anyone know if the prices will hold or even appreciate in value? Is the area going through a gentrification? Any insight is appreciated.
