Looks like the snowflakes are at it again:

Betsy DeVos speaks at University of Baltimore graduation, prompting protests - Baltimore Sun

Quote:
William Keith Pierre chose to rise in protest. He lifted his fist above his head as he turned his back on DeVos. “Raising my fist was my way of saying, ‘Resist,’ ” said the 42-year-old recent graduate. “This is a public university and I don’t feel like any of her views represent the student body here.”
Well, boo-hoo, William. I didn't care for the commencement speaker at my graduation either, but I sat there and listened quietly and respectfully . . . because that's what normal adults do. But you oh-so-special folks, well, if something happens that upsets your delicate sensibilities, you just have to "#resist."

Potential employers, take note: people like this guy will be nothing but trouble. You're better off tossing his resume into the circular file.

The lesson here is: Save your grandstanding for an online forum, you'll get a bigger audience.

Let's break this down here. (1) she's in Baltimore (2) she's in Baltimore (3) she's in Baltimore.

Do I need to break it down further. No one will respect her there. She's a Trump appointee, there you go. Now.... let's get a little of what Devos wants to do.

Her goal is to overhaul the education system so that all parents are given a voucher that is a 1:1 ratio for the cost of the nearby public school that their child is districted for. So now, this dosen't mean they are not getting an education, it means the parent now has a CHOICE (you see it's in all-caps) to use that voucher for public school or give it to private (along with some additional money).

This puts public schools in a difficult situation, because for the first time in their life they have to compete with others. So all those poor performing public school teachers that are tenured/unioned are now stuck in a situation where they may have to drive 40 miles away because the public school they used to teach poorly and inefficiently at has closed now.

Now, I don't feel DeVos is good with what she does, she's not going to be effective in my opinion, it's a great idea, but she won't execute it well. She's there at that job simply because her parents and relatives have/had money and donated it into the system!!!!

They should heed her advice in Baltimore and go towards a more competitive school choice system. But they wont. Too much money to be made in the current failing union run system.

If you are referring to a voucher program then you are wrong. It is the wrong thing to do and would benefit the wrong people.

DeVos should have never been appointed.

And she should never have been invited to UB to speak.

i give both Devos (with whom I generally disagree on most policy matters) and the university credit. I expect most at the university disagree with her positions, and she is very much aware of this. Yet she was invited to speak and accepted. There is far too much preaching to the choir these days. listening politley to an opposing opinion is a sign of maturity. And who knows the listener may actually learn something!

Whatever happened to the days when a person was appointed
to a Cabinet position based upon their skill set and not as a
favor returned for a financial contribution or a reward for
being loyal?

Rick Perry as Energy Secretary.
Betsy DeVos as Sec. of Education.
Ben Carson (a neurologist) as HUD Secretary.

Just like in Hollywood, if you cast against type
the movie usually flops.
