Does anyone have ideas of how we can get rid of the current crop of currupt politicians in city hall in favor of people who will actually partner with the community and help to facilitate what many in the community are already doing?

Check out this example of tax payer money wasted. These people have no shame.

Seeing as how "the community" elects them, perhaps you should take it up with "the community."

The French people in the 17th century stormed
the Bastille (prison), freed the political prisoners,
then stormed the estates of the French aristocracy.
They put them on trial and made the aristocracy
confess to crimes against the common people of
France before they were subjected to punishment
by guillotine.

Not suggesting a similar fate should meet local politicians
but they have lost their fear of the common people and
it is something that must be restored.

Our corrupt politicians are only taking what the 1 percents are offering. There are many people in this country who are just fine with things the way they are. Look at the stock market. You've got the wrong group of people in the tumbrils.

I was reading about the Mayor's trip to Vegas this week. SRB featured was in this month's Essence magazine, and I feel that she is working SLOWLY on her image. If she gets her face out there....she will attract more people to the city.

So tired of people complaining about her going out on the town, wearing nice clothes and having her hair on point. It's like people believe she should be working night and day, dressed in rags.

I may have mentioned that I saw her at a Ledisi concert couple of weeks ago. I think she needs to be out even more, but I wish she would chill out and relax. She seems a bit cold and distance - bodyguards all around and just a unfriendly demeanor when ever I see her in the community.

If she smiled more and had more transparency, I could (maybe) stand behind her. She needs to work on that if she plans to keep her job.....instead of coming off so defensive in the media.

Now, the whole hiring situation that bmoregrimey posted is just the typical job hook up/unethical stuff that needs to stop. Wish she would own the mistakes that her administration has made - and there's been many!

Unless you plan on replicating the French Revolution or the Bolshevik Revolution at Baltimore City hall, you are going to have to rely on elections. Elections are not going to do it either as an independent will never make it (lack of support and finances), and a republican will never make it in Baltimore period. So sit back, have a Natty Boh, and understand that you will continue to be screwed royally.

Below are links to four articles about the selloff of public housing to private developers that show how the taxpayers and those who receive housing assistance are being raked over the coals.

Note that in the March 3 article it states that the developers will pay little or no property tax to the city each year. WHAT???!!! What a wonderful way to rip off the citizens of Baltimore!!! Talk about corporate welfare!!

Happy reading!!

James777 pretty much summed it up! It's useless unless there is a total overhaul and revolting of the system! The backwardness of Baltimore political machine is too entrenched inside the DNA of its neighboring communities. These fools ain't trying to change, nor will these neighborhood change while their political DNA is corrupted, foolish and backwards.
