My husband might be switching jobs to start working in Baltimore. We are currently living in Calvert County (southern MD). We love being near the water and like more historic/older homes/neighborhoods. Obviously he doesn't like a long commute. We have a 2 year old and another baby on the way so family friendly is important. We love Annapolis area but probably want to be closer to Baltimore. Any suggestions??

Try looking at the Arnold/Cape St. Clair area. You could still be close to the water, and your husband could easily get to routes 2 and 10 for the commute up to Baltimore.

The Arnold commute is not bad. Doesn't put you half way, but a great area. Typically it takes me about 35 minutes to go from South Baltimore to deep into Arnold, and about 25 minutes to get home... all right turns!
