I just looked what it is. I don't think it is a good idea... I dont see the advantages.

I grew up in Arnold, my GF works in Severna Park, we live downtown. Very easy commute, traffic will not be an issue, but you will be putting more miles on your car than you would going from Towson or Ellicott City. SP is about 20-25 minutes, Arnold about 30-35 minutes to downtown. Nice areas, very family oriented, good options for young athletes, artists, thinkers... or whatever. You will find that certain neighborhoods send a strong percentage of kids to private schools, but as a public school kid, I never noticed anyone putting their noses up at the public schools.

Here's another tool to help with your decision.

Especially pay attention to the crime rates.

As I said, parts of Catonsville list as unsafe. Best to look at facts instead of conjecture.

Arnold is a haul to Baltimore. One hour commutes will be fairly normal. Nice area though.

Rent to own is basically renting the property but giving you the right to purchase it when you're ready. It's not forever renting and and it gives you the change to prepare and check things out before you decide if you want to purchase the home that you want.

I think after a lot of time thinking. I made my mind. After weighting: Price; quality of the house; schools; safety; commute time and entertainment...

the winner is................................................ .......

...........................................WHITE MARSH/PERRY HALL.

Default Moving and working near AAFB

Check out Calvert County, Maryland. Some of the best schools in Maryland. The commute to AAFB is only 45 minutes. To Annapolis Mall is approximately 45 minutes. The best thing about Calvert is the conservative way of life, and friendliness. I cannot judge too many other communities, as I have only lived in Maryland. I do not enjoy commuting in Virginia, as there is way too much traffic and way too much construction on their highways.
