hello everyone-

I'm a high school senior currently living in suburban Buffalo, NY, and i have taken a very high interest in loyola (the only thing holding me back is the disgusting lack of music programs...), and was looking for any personal opinions on the school or the area that its located. i have visited once and got a good impression, but local opinions weigh much more heavily.

any info or opinions would be gratefully appreciated. thanks!

Loyola is located in a great area north of the city. From my experience, its beautiful over there and is no where near being a bad part of town.

Safe area, situated between Towson and Hopkins campuses. As for student population, Loyola's tuition is pretty costly, so you're going to be looking at upper class, preppy students. I believe the school draws a lot of students from NJ and NY, but probably more the Long Island area.

Default Only one blemish

Loyola has only one blemish. It is known all over America for its students' destructive binge drinking. The college has been trying to address that problem for years.
The campus is terrific, nestled between Guilford, the city's most expensive area of mansions, and the College of Notre Dame. Roland Park, another storied money neighborhood, is nearby.

Immediate area surrounding Loyola is great but 3 blocks east of the campus is sketchy. As far as the drinking, I think most college campuses have this problem and I concur it is serious.

Loyola is a great school in a great neighborhood. My aunt went there and she loved it.
