Hi,

I am new to Owings Mills area and i have very little knowledge on Metro trains in Owings Mills. I need to ask you guys to do me a favor and tell me the best possible route i can reach to the places i want to.

Is there any metro route to reach Hunt Valley, MD 21031?

Thank You.

Unless you took the metro from OM to downtown and then the light rail to HV. But that'd probably take almost 2 hours including waiting and transfering.

haha, definitely not. You're in the suburbs, the land of the car. That's the way it is in this country, unfortunately.

Maryland Transit Administration (http://mta.maryland.gov/maps/ - broken link) There's the whole MTA system map. I guess you could get off the Metro at the Reisterstown Plaza station, take the 58 or 60 to Mt Washington, then get on the light rail. Might be quicker just to ride Metro to State Center and walk to the Mt Royal light rail stop.

Ok. This sounds little promising. Help me out please. I catch metro and get down at Lexington market and then catch Blue Rail to Hunt Valley. I checked the mta website and i think its possible to do that way. Am i correct?

Also i need to go to Elkridge so i am thinking to do the same thing. Get Metro to Lexington Market and then catch Blue Rail to BWI and get a cab from there to Elkridge.

Please guide me.

Yeah that's basically what we said but it'd just take awhile. But it is about a block walk from the metro station to the light rail stop. I did this once and if you're unfamiliar with the area and are going at night it may seem a bit sketchy. During the day you should be fine.

Or as HandsUpThumbsDown said you can get off the metro one stop earlier at State Center for just a bit longer walk to the light rail so you'd be a little farther north if going to Hunt Valley (never did this one though).

It's only a little bit longer walk than Lex Market. I'd do this one considering it's further north. You're still looking at probably 90+ minutes total travel time, though.

Pitiful, really.

Well considering there's not even really a direct route to get from OM to HV by car, I probably wouldn't expect there to be a better way to get there by public transit. It's only about 12 miles as the crow flies, but it's basically a half hour drive, since the easiest way (but not at rush hour) is probably first going south on 795, east on 695, then north on 83.
