Won't ever be commercial. I believe that one of the rules must be twin engine powered and able to operate on one engine if the other fails.

Methinks the Cessna Caravan is operated as a passenger aircraft throughout the USA. As is the Pilatus PC-12 which is operated by Surf Air and another regional airline in the northwest whose name escapes me at the moment.

SeaPort and Air Choice One, operate single engine turboprops on scheduled passenger operations in the US. There's probably a few other airlines as well.

The Russian airplane looks derivative of the TBM-700/850.

Yep, I have a buddy who flies for Air Choice One on the Caravan and their piston powered small twin, can't remember which aircraft it is.

So yes, it can fly commercial service, and you're right, it does look like a TBM, albeit an uglier one...

I highly doubt it'll see commercial service here in the US, the Ruskie's tend to keep their stuff in their own backyard.

Plenty of airlines in the U.S. fly single engine planes. Small ones but they are out there.
