I thought it was going to be a story about a 90 year old granny who miraculously lands a plane during a thunderstorm at night while the captain reads her the checklist.

What a gyp! The headline says "passenger helps land 747" instead of off-duty pilot helps land 747.
I'm not even clicking the link.

Anyway, I could have done that with a turkey leg in my hand.

Why no mention of a 3rd pilot (relief pilot) which I thought would be required for a flight of this stage length?

Roger, Roger.

Leslie Nielson, you funny man.

Did you know that LN's brother was once the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada ? True.

And their Father was a RCMP officer, and bush pilot ? Also true.

If you don't remember the Canadian TV series " Due South " look it up, and be prepared to laugh out loud, at the antics of the three Mounties, in Chicago. Paul Gross, Leslie Nielsen, and Gordon Pinsent. The ONLY American in the whole cast, was detective Delvechio, all the rest of the actors were Canadian. It was full of "double meanings " such as the deaf but really tame wolf, named Diefenbaker.....after one of our less than brilliant Prime Ministers, in the 50's. .

Jim B

Toronto.

I am pretty sure I could help a pilot land a plane if I had to. I am no pilot, but I know the basics and I know my way around a flight deck.
