Do you guys get that show in the good ol' US of A? I think it's great, and I love watching these old warbirds, still plugging along like the work horses they are, in some of the most inhospitable climates.

I also really enjoy the people.

I like it alot more then Flying Wild Alaska, Alaska Wing Men, or any of these others that followed afterwards.

What say you? Do you guys enjoy it?

Would you take an Electra to the north pole?

I catch it from time to time. I like seeing those old birds still fly around. Yeah, I'd fly the Electra.

To me the Electra doesn't even fit the category of old bird. For being over 50 years old it is still very modern compared to those DC-3s and C-46s. From a technology standpoint I was never a fan of piston engines on aircraft. A turbo-prop is light years ahead.

I am nu-age gypsy (Is that politically correct)

When I saw this show I wanted to submit a resume and move there to be an ICE Pilot. The DC-#'s and other old iron are music to the eyes.

The Weather Channel has another very cool airplane show coming again. Cant wait !!!!!

Do you remember Sky King ??

Yes I watch it on Discovery Channel. It is really interesting and fascinating how things go on up there. I would love a world where more planes are used than cars and everybody has planes.

I've watched both Flying Wild Alaska and Ice Pilots. Pretty good flying footage although, sometimes the video does not jive with what the story line is going. For example there was a problem on a Cessna Caravan (single engine turbine) and the video went to a close up of a twin engine manifold pressure gauge (two needles L&R). No manifold pressure gauges on a turbine.

Both shows include some pretty impressive cross wind landings and take offs. I'll watch if they have another season.
