I am trying to replace my wife's old SUV with one that has a 3rd row seat. I need to be able to fit a transport wheelchair (that folds flat) behind the 3rd row.
I have narrowed it down to the Acura MDX (2008 or 2009) or the Volvo CX-90 (8 Cyl - gas mileage between the 6 and 8 are minimal) - 2 Premium Midsized SUVs. What would you get?
I am getting leather, heated seats, navigation, DVD with Bluetooth headsets, and power seats - MDX = 300 HP and the CX-90 = 315 HP.
Cost is not so much an issue and I don't want a gargantuan of a vehicle (we had a Ford Expedition, already). I am not financing this vehicle (paying out in cash).
I'd say that the Volvo is a more rugged car, and would personally go with it. Not a fan of Acura's current looks either, although the current generation Volvo is an older car than than the current MDX, and is due for an update.

Thanks for the correction.
My wife favors the Volvo for the interior seating configurations. I prefer the MDX for the layout of the instrument panel/console/electronics.
BUT it is her car so I don't think either is a bad choice.
The Volvo I liked was the V8 for $57k and the MDX I like is $48k.
My wife drives an MDX and we love it. I have an RDX so I guess we are just an Acura family. Jay
I love the RDX, also. However, I need extra space.
The inside of the MDX looks like a spaceship cockpit. It was intimidating when I first saw it. I like the voice activated features (Find nearest "Walmart", for example). Acura's GPS is better than others and you seem to get more for the money when compared to Volvo.
My wife just saw a convertible and she said she wanted that so if I wanted the SUV, I can pick the MDX (although my personal first choice is a minivan, like a Sienna). I will give my hybrid to my mother (who also lives with us) - she loves the electronic seats (which are heated).
I think the humor goes in another section of the message boards.
