I just sold a car on Craigs list and I just had to let everyone know that if you are shopping for a used car or looking to sell one - GO HERE FIRST!!!

I had a 2000 Ford Explorer with a blown head gasket. It did not run at all and I didnt want to put any money into it - had various other issues too that needed work. I was going to send it to the junkyard just to be done with it.

In the end, I decided to have it towed home and post it on Craigs list. The body was in decent condition. I took pics posted it and sold it in 30 minutes -sight unseen. He brought me cash money within 1 hour direct to my office. Calls started coming in within 2 min of the ad going online. Apparently I priced it too low, but I sold the car with absolutely no hassle and made money that I didnt even expect. So the buyer got a steal for the car and I got a few bucks.

I had no idea that so many people used Craigs list.

Turns out the guy that bought it had an Explorer with a really bad body and a great engine. He is just going to change out the bad parts and my old car will get a second chance on the road!

Craigslist can be a great tool when used with the proper caution. Remember, scam artists are everywhere. I'm glad that you had a great experience though, congrats!!

Not everyone knows of CL, I've put stuff on there that you think would have sold yet never did. Ebay seems to be more popular.

When ever you post a picture of your car, make sure to block our your lic plate number. Other wise your car will be found missing.

Is there any proof to that? How can they find your address via the license plate #? Aren't there privacy laws now in full effect?

Also when you think about it do you ever cover up your plate while driving around? You never know when a thief is on your tail writing down your tag # on a piece of paper.

I will be purchasing some wheels off of CL very soon. I still buy off of eBay, but I will no longer sell on there.
